THINGS TO SEE, DO & EAT

In Gallery Place/Chinatown

Across the street from the Hotel Monaco is the National Portrait Gallery,
where you can see a Martin Luther King, Jr. exhibit and other famous portraits.
National Portrait Gallery, 8th and F Streets, NW.

Grab a drink at Fado, where we play (and sometimes win!) pub trivia every Monday.
Fado, 808 7th Street, NW.

If you take a quick walk down 7th Street from the Hotel Monaco, you can
visit the Navy Memorial, and see the Constitution at the National Archives.
On the way, grab a delicious cupcake at Red Velvet.
Navy Memorial, 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
The National Archives, 7th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW.
Red Velvet, 505 7th Street, NW.

Visit Thomas's favorite museum, The National Building Museum.
The museum is beautiful, and its exhibits are fun for all ages.
The National Building Museum, 401 F Street, NW.

On the National Mall

The National Mall stretches from the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial.
Enjoy visiting all the monuments in between. Some of our favorites are the
Jefferson Memorial (Thomas) and the Lincoln Memorial (Terra).
The monuments beautiful all the time, but especially awe-inspiring at night.

Visit any of the many Smithsonian museums located along the Mall. Some of our
favorites include the Air and Space Museum, the American History Museum,
and the Natural History Museum. While not technically a Smithsonian,
the National Gallery of Art is worth a visit, too.

In Dupont Circle

Walk along Connecticut Avenue for shopping, drinks, and lots of restaurants.
Connecticut Avenue NW, between L Street and S Street.

Check out the current exhibit at the Phillips Gallery.

On Sunday morning, you can pick up fresh fruits, vegetables,
flowers, and other treats at the Dupont Farmer's Market.
It's one of our favorite places to get fresh produce.
20th and Q Streets, NW.

In Georgetown

Visit Georgetown University, the most beautiful college in the country
(in Terra's somewhat biased opinion). After you're done touring the
campus, make like a Hoya and grab a drink at the Tomb's.

Walk along M Street to enjoy shopping, restaurants, and people-watching.

Relax on the Georgetown Waterfront for views of the Potomac.
